Mrs. Conoly discussed what we were to do with students' PEP's. Must get a parent signature this year. Dr. West had a booklet he had prepared to get us started with our interdisciplinary unit. He went through it and answered some questions. Once he left Mr. Cummings continued with information about our unit and informed us that we will be using centers as part of our instruction at least two days a week. 3. Discuss criteria for "All Star Posters" - no referrals (Goal: 6 out of 9 weeks of stars students will get some sort of reward.....The team will decide next week!
4. 8th Grade HR teachers will explain "All Stars Posters" Friday morning in HR. Each Child is responsilbe for putting their star up each week

Goal:
How to maintain and implement consistency, organizational skills, and intrinsic motivation with students and teachers.
Organization
Students have been grouped in homeroom teams; Rhue/Hatfield, Bordeaux/Holdridge, Konrady/VanPelt, Hoffmier/Rhodes
Consistency
Each Friday names from homeroom All-Stars will be drawn and announced the following Monday during morning announcements. Winners will be go to the library to pick their prize from an assortment of school related objects such as pencils, erasers, post-its, folders, etc.
Motivation
The All Star poster has been received with great enthusiasm from both students and teachers. Students understand that the stars are a direct indicator of proper behavior.

Students' behavior has improved therefore allowing for a more positive learning environment for both teachers and students.

December Field Trip-Christmas Carol movie-still pending. Ms. Gower and Ms. Hoffmier will inquire about theatre and possible restaurant.
Eighth grade field trip is a motivator but not directly tied to All Star chart. Stars are received for not having a referral in the week. Students can participate in the field trip if they do not have an out of school suspension.

-Guest Speaker- Jane Saunders -( Came to discuss 8th grade Computer Competency Skills and how we could implement a few "TECHNOLOGY" strategies in our classes to recieve credit for proficiency levels)- She emphasied school projects and instructed teachers to keep track of how they are teaching computer competency skills in their classroom. (Evidence= Lesson Plans)
- Fundraiser- Will begin this coming Monday (Rhue and Hoffmier will man the pic presentation booth and collect money; Gower will order pictures on Friday; Bordeaux will pick up pictures by the next following Monday morning. Students will recieve their pics. Monday in homeroom.
- Fieldtrips- 1. Social Studies based- (1898 Wilmington Riots)- Walking trip and afternoon movie ( confirmed date March 24)- permission slip should go out March 10th and should be returned March 16th by 3:30.
2. End of the Year fieldtrip- Hydrology based - Boat Cruise 3 miles out in the ocean - (confirmed date April 30th)
-Rhue will collect money and permission slips with the help of Hoffmier
- Hoffmier will set up fieldtrip info, bus, and create permission slips

-Fieldtrips -1. 1898 Wilmington Riots Memorial - Walking fieldtrip- permission slips will go out on March 8 and the fieldtrip will be March 24. Bagged lunches will be needed for those students who cannot bring there own. Cafeteria must be informed the week of the trip.
2. End of year fieldtrip- Boat Cruise - permission slips will go out April 5, due back April 16, last call April 23. Fieldtrip is scheduled for April 30.
-Fundraisers- 1. Possible spring dance-8th grade team chaperones(April 9). 2. Continue selling pictures at lunch.
